A Knot
Knot symbollize connections, which is like how ZSSAC is uniting and tying everyone together. The logo resembles the character, 中, which stands for both China and Zhong Shan. Not to mention, only people who know Chinese, which would most likely be the people of Chinese, would recognize such resemblance.

The flowing design of the logo also symbolizes transitions (from Zhong Shan to Canada). No matter which “end” you came from, you would always pass through the knot, ZSSAC.

ZSSAC tries to support students who came to study in Canada from Zhong Shan, making new comers feel at home as much as possible. The Knot may seem to be symmetry at the first climes, but it is not. This symbolizes how ZSSAC bring the values and beliefs from home to Canada. At times, the feeling of Zhong Shan may be strong within the club yet one cannot deny the fact that we are now in Canada. And one would need to learn to adapt and adjust to new challenges and changes.

Colour chosen: Light Golden Brown & Charcoal
In order to achieve simplicity, only two colours were chosen: Light Golden Brown and Charcoal.

Light Golden Brown:  Chrysanthemum is the flower of Zhong Shan and Zhong Shan is also famous for santalum album. Light gold brown, which symbolizes youth and fun, adds in livelihood to the logo.

Charcoal: Creating a contemporary feeling to fit the theme of the club, charcoal was chosen. Not to mention, it again emphasis simplicity.
